What are some *actual* tips for finding a job?

I've been trying the 'honest about myself' method for jobhunting for way too long and it's only backfired. I recently dropped out of uni after it (again) completely destroyed my mental wellbeing, so I don't have much work experience at all and I've yet to even be offered an interview. I'm getting kinda desparate to find work, preferably some work that isn't manual labour. Besides that, I'm not at all picky about what I end up doing. I figure I have to play the game to even stand a chance at the job market. tl;dr what are your best tips for someone looking for a job without much work experience? how do you use dishonesty to help you without being unbelievable about your capabilities?
