A few years ago I joined the military to use it as a stepping stone towards something greater. I was tired of working dead end jobs and the only options I really had was to continue working dead end jobs, start selling drugs with some of my homies or put myself in massive amounts of college debt. It really sucks that I had to join the military to get to a better position in life but all in all I’m glad I did and gained a lot out of it. I had told my job over a month prior to me leaving for boot camp that I was gonna be leaving and they were fine with it. Well a couple weeks before I was supposed to stop working the owners son called me because he was mad I was doing something with my recruiter and not at work (which I told my boss about).
He got mad and started cussing at me for leaving his company to join the military. He said I was a piece of a shit and he should’ve never hired me and told me I better not show my face there ever again. I laughed at him and told him I’ll be by to pick up my last check if he really wanted to say all of that to my face. Needless to say he wasn’t and he tried to get HR to get me to sign some paperwork saying I was fired for misconduct which I refused. So glad I left that place. He was always talking shit about people and he was also like 5’5 he clearly had little man syndrome.
