I guess we all know how it feels to feel powerless and screwed over by management and supervisors. So, I'm wondering: Have you found loopholes at your workplace that enable you to regain control or even fight back against what your employer wants you to do?
I start with something rather obvious: At every workplace I was, I encouraged coworkers to improve their situation by leaving toxic work environments. I helped them to put their CVs together and we practiced interviews before the actual appointments. One of my coworkers, who is now a close friend of mine, got his dream job like this.
Another good one I know came from a former coworker: Our employer wanted us all back in the office despite the pandemic. So, the guy used to clock in via his laptop before he went on his commute so that the whole thirty minutes were added to his time. As far as I know, no one ever noticed. I quit shortly after hearing about this but I hope it became a common thing there.
Now, do you know about other strategies?
