What can be done about this?

Hey everybody, first time post in this group. I’m going through a situation at work that’s a bit frustrating. Some background information: I’m an anesthesia tech at a pretty well known hospital corporation. My supervisor is new-ish (~7 months in) and got her daughter-in-law a job here about 9 months ago. I’ve worked here about 7 months so far and pay is pretty shitty for the work and responsibility given ($16.40). Now for the situation; I have multiple medical conditions that are incurable and I was upfront with this company prior to accepting the job with documentation from multiple providers. As my condition flares up, I’ve had to call out on the days I couldn’t get coverage (were short staffed as it is bc of the low pay for this position).

I was told that if I called out once more that I would be fired, I get it, it’s understandable but a shitty situation nonetheless. I was told to file for FMLA but i have not worked there for a year so I automatically did not qualify. However, the daughter in law has called out a minimum of 15 times that I’m aware of in the past 2 months. Her reasoning was a family death and now she is pregnant making the call outs more frequent. Seeming as this is the grand child of my supervisor, it’s a very uncomfortable situation to bring up. I understand everyone goes through difficult times but I can’t help feel there’s a bit of favoritism between the MIL supervisor and my coworker. There’s been many many days I’ve asked to either leave early if we have supplement staff or other coworkers attempting to cover part of my shift if I’m not feeling well and my supervisor does not approve it. I don’t plan on staying here forever, I’m in school for a different field but I’m not sure this job is accommodating my health needs even if I’m finding alternative resolutions.

Any advice or criticism is appreciated.
