So I'll start by saying I am a casual worker, 18 years old working for KFC located in Australia.
Had a close friends Mum die, who I was also quite friendly with, gave work notice that I was going to be taking the day of the funeral off and the next day also.
Boss gets shitty at me, but I tell him its non negotiable. Not to mention, I'm fucking casual?
Day of the funeral comes around and its about to start.
Ring ring its my boss, not calling from the work phone however but his own number. So I see what's up quickly.
This fucking guy asks me if I can work today, I tell him “no dude I told you I'm at a funeral today” he gives me an audible sigh and says “well what time does it finish”
“No, I'm not working, I just had someone die and I'm going to their wake afterwards as well, I'm not coming to work today, I've already organised this”
He literally gets the shits, another audible sigh and a grunt then hangs up on me.
What is wrong with people.
