These are screenshots of a thread from a post here in antiwork from yesterday. Notevenapro for some reason decided to delete their comments. My intention posting these is in an attempt to facilitate discussion. Those of you blessed enough to have well paying jobs and are living comfy, what would it take for you to cashapp/Venmo money to someone who is legitimately struggling?
In the scenario I am presenting, they explicitly say, “I wish I could help you find a happy place so you can be nicer” I gave them an immediate actionable solution that is well within their means, as they declared.
Bob. Weave. “Oh shoot would you look at that I totally WOULD but you just live to far away…”
I offered many easily viable digital solutions to overcome that barrier as well.
POOF – GONE – DELETE
So let’s talk about it. We all agree that everything sucks rn and is unsustainable and unhealthy as fuck. But if you’re still not willing to drop money in the bank to help someone not be starving or homeless, when you and yours live a life of comfort and luxury. And by luxury I mean you have working internet WiFi at your house like it ain’t no thang. ((My internet at home has personally been shut off for 3 months now bc I can’t afford it)).
What will it take for those of you WITH to literally drop $ in the bank to help those of us WITHOUT?
If not NOW, then when?
What will it take?
