I worked a salary office job and we were severely short staffed and I was the only one on the team with prior experience on this type of project so I worked my butt off for 3 years accruing tons of PTO because the job needs to get done.
They post a job that would be a promotion and I apply and they don't even let me interview for it stating that “it would be a waste of time for the interviewers” so I interview with another company and get the promotion with them. I give them my 2 weeks notice and they inform me that the policy is for them to not pay earned vacation and my state's labor laws don't require them to. So I lost 4 weeks pay but I'm glad I don't work their anymore.
