What’s the point of giving a 2 week notice if your boss/manager is going to get mad at your anyways?

This has been on my mind recently. Many people here have been saying that they get an unprofessional response from their boss when they quit their boss despite giving them a proper notice. Me included from the last job I quit. If we really think about it, if bosses can let us go at anytime without warning, why should we give them a 2 week notice? I used to think if I give a notice when I quit, it's mainly to be professional but if not, I am at least avoiding an argument with my boss. My last job my boss cussed me out even though I gave a notice. Now I know there are some very good boss/manager out there that probably deserves a notice, but most of them are not like that. Some people are scared to quit a job because of pushback from their boss/manager. But now…

But now I feel like what's the point of even giving a professional notice if the boss/manager will give me pushback anyways? I suppose you do it for your coworkers because once you quit, their workload will probably increase.
