When gas cost too much what will you do?

I’m wondering what will people do when the gas prices are just so high to drive to work everyday. Demand you wfh? The great resignation part 2 and collect unemployment and hope gas prices go down? What’s your plan? Carpool?! Buy an electric car and charge at work?
