when i quit my last job, on my last day they offered to match the pay, told them they should have started to pay me sooner. why do they only have the money when we want to leave?

they did this to almost every person who left, told us that “it’s just as bad” everywhere else and did everything they could do to cling onto our pair of hands, saying we could get promoted soon, but refusing to acknowledge or compensate us for how we are the backbone of the company on one meeting with the higher ups the team leads asked if they had any plans to match market rates since their retention was so low due to better wages elsewhere and they told us “people don’t just come to work for the money, they come for a sense of belonging” on my last week i tried to “revolutionize” my team and told them they should just stop coming in for even just 3 days and everything would change. everyone said yeah you’re right but were too scared to plan or go through with it. i wish…

i wish people on the bottom of the totem pole realized how much power they have as a group i just hope that more people come to the realization that if we group together we can make change happen
