I hope this is the right community to post this in.
I have been working at this company for a little bit over a year. The pay isn’t great (45k dollars salary with a bachelors degree) and I simply don’t enjoy what I do anymore.
I got a new job that pays 60k and signed the offer letter right away (I was not actively looking for a job, just came across a mutual friend whose implant was hiring in the field I’m interested in).
I have over 12 PTO days that I won’t be able to use because I start my new job in 3 weeks. This gives me time to give my current job a 2 week notice since it’s required.
Now the issue is when do I give my boss my resignation letter? Should I do it right before the 2 week mark or sooner? The reason I am delaying this is because I have recently requested a couple days off next week for an out of town trip. It I tell my boss right now that I will be leaving I don’t think he will let me have next week off as I requested.
What do I do?
