When to turn in a resignation letter?

Per title. I work in California for a dental lab at the time of for about a year now. This is my first job in dental production, straight out of college as I did not have any dental background (bachelors degree but not in STEM). However, I got a job offer with a (ok) raise at another lab and decided that this new place fits my work and learning ethics more. I accepted their (the new lab’s) offer and will be working there officially in a week. Thus on Monday, for a last consideration, I had a talk with the manager about career advancement because I have found interest in this industry and want to pursue it and make it my career, but thru the talk I could see that the way this company works doesn’t really support the way I want to learn. It’s very rigid, you do one job for a long time and don’t actually learn anything much. Management is also messy and cliquey, favoritism is a huge and obvious thing. People already complained but it’s still kind of the same :/

So I came home and wrote my resignation letter, effective on Thursday. Wednesday would be my last full day of working. Right now it’s already Tuesday and I don’t know if I should turn it in during the morning or before I leave for the day in the afternoon. I live in California so it’s at-will employment so 2 week notice isn’t necessary, but I just don’t wanna seem like an asshole because 2 day notice seems short, but I can’t give them more time either.

I would like to ask for advice on how can I approach and talk to the manager to turn in my resignation letter? Her temper is very hard to predict. I was thinking of just asking her for a 5 min private talk to turn it in, say some thank you and work the last 2 days in peace.
