My company allows 3 call outs a year and the 4th is a termination, I went to work not feeling well this morning and started throwing up after about 30-40min of being there so I left after telling someone and no surprise I get a text from my boss saying we have a meeting tomorrow to write me up as this is my 3rd call out for being sick. I’m a truck driver (cdl) do you really want me on the road not just risking my license but risking the people on the road? Just let me use my pto and get some rest I’d be happy to come in early (assuming I’m well) to run any loads leftover. I like my job and where I live it’s hard to find anything that pays as well as a truck driver and let’s me be home every night, just hope they don’t decide to make an example out of me to scare anyone else from calling out.
