Who needs sleep?

So, I work in security for one of those big chain contractor companies, basically I work for them and get sent to other companies to watch over their sites. . . As well as do a ton of other random things depending on what the client wants and expects. It tends to be more secretarial work at most sites more than anything. Well, I've been working at a brewery and recently was asked to switch sites to a chemical plant because I have previous experience working directly with truckers and handling bills of lading, and such. Rather than transfer me over and find someone to fill my current spot, they decide to ask me to cover both spots until they find a replacement for me at the brewery as it's one of our largest contracts.

That wouldn't be a problem if one site wasn't 3rd shift and the other 1st shift. The 1st shift site, the brewery also likes to schedule me 12 hour shifts despite the position they offered me only being i hour shifts.
Frankly, I'd have turned them down had they been up front about the surprise 12 hour shifts being sprinkled in as the measly $15/hour they pay really isn't enough for my wife and I to live on, and pushing myself to pull 12 hour shifts does nothing for us but further exhaust me.

They assured me that I wouldn't be doing this for very long, but its been weeks and my sleep schedule is pretty much shot by the bouncing back and forth.

I finally get ahold of the HR woman (a boomer living several states away) about it and explain how taxing trying to balance the two wildy opposie schedules are, only for her to begin freaking out on me over it.
Apparently, I'm not as much of a “Team Player” as I claim to be. . .

I'm being taken advantage of so she can get her bonuses, which is why they constantly harp on us for getting overtime, but refuse to give us the crew to cover our shifts.

I dunno. I'm just tired of it.
My wife wants me to try to apply for Social Security because of my PTSD, anxiety, depression, and various health issues, but I worry that we will starve to death if I take a pay reduction.
Kinda feels like I'm stuck grinding my mind and body to dust in order to just barely fail to make it.

Anyone else out there dealing with similar garbage?
