I finally taking the jump in looking for a new job in a new field of work that I have never done. But why do I feel so guilty?
Quick backstory:
Been with the same company (retail) for 10 years, yes 10 years. Worked as a fashion associate, to stock room manager, to team lead manager. I have had 3 amazing managers 5 amazing assistant managers and a handful of amazing team leads, and 3 horrible horrible managers (the third I'm currently still working with). Even though my titles are few I have had lots of opportunities to have responsibilities that help me learn what managers do and learn what my bosses bosses expect and want. Even met and developed amazing relationships with those higher ups as well. My coworkers (minus the horrible bosses) are likey family, mostly because we work holidays in retail, but relationships that I value and we work in even when not working.
Why do I feel so guilty for finally looking for a jump that is better for my mental health and help me have that work and home life balance? And how can they make me feel guilty about do so? And if you're wondering, yes a few people know that I'm looking. I have a few interviews coming up and they are helping me prep for them. Been a long time since I had an interview to get a job. My titles I worked for and asked and got.
I don't know what I'm looking for from this post. Probably just to vent out my frustration and confusion, because I don't think there's even an answer to my questions.
