- Isn't it more cost effective? If their staff works from home, they can safe plenty of money on rent and/or use the available space for other things.
- Productivity in computer jobs is easily measurable. There's no argument to be made for productivity, if you can just makensure that everybody does their job and gets their things done in time.
Seriously, I don't get it. I have a business myself and why would I care about anything else than my employees getting their job done in time and thus making their employment worthwhile?
- I don't care if you work exact hours (unless you're support or something that needs to be available at specific times.
- I don't care if you wear pants
- I don't care if you drink beer or margharitas
- I don't care if you play with your kids or watch tv
- I don't care if you eat pizza
Just as long as you do the job we agreed on in a timely and fashionable way and I have as little as possible to do about it.
Why are some companies so obsessed with micro-managing? The whole reason I employ somebody is that I do NOT have to do their job – and tjey probably know better than I do, because it's literally what they have education and training in.
I thought, those companies are optimized for profit, which would mean to interfere with workers as little as possible and just help them do their job as smoothly and unintercepted as possible.
How are these corps such a mess of a micromanaging hell?
