I'm 32 and I'm still stuck in my parents' house since I haven't been able to get a job that pays well enough to support the independent lifestyle I want. It's been a source of shame and self-loathing for me, to be honest. At first, I thought it had something to do with me being autistic (we're often not good at getting hired, let alone keeping jobs), but then I found out that nearly a third of people in my generation (and four in ten men of that age) are stuck in the same predicament as I am.

Among young adults ages 25 to 29, nearly a third (31%) live in multigenerational households, often in their parents’ home. Nearly four-in-ten young men in this age group (37%) are in multigenerational households, as are 26% of similarly aged young women.
