My job can be done 100% remotely, yet here I am, working in a cold, loud building whose color pallet is dingy gray and off-white since it probably hasn’t been updated since the early 2000’s. I’m hungry because I forgot my breakfast and the only food they have here comes from 2 vending machines, one of which is broken and the second only has candy bars left. Instead of grabbing something from my kitchen I have to choose between going hungry or leaving work late because the only food will take me a minimum of 30 minutes to go offsite and get. Corporate makes 0 effort to even try and make the office a comfortable place to work, and yet here I am 8 or more hours a day; cold, hungry, tired, and in dire need of pajamas.
Why are people okay with this?
PS before the comments come in, I’ve already started looking into remote opportunities, but it’ll take some time to get there.
