This is one of my biggest pet peeves in job searching. some companies make you apply directly through their website by redirecting you from Indeed to their page. If a company gives me the option to apply through Indeed without the hassle of navigating their often shittily designed website, im going to do it. It feels like just another hurdle we have to jump through, another unspoken rule that we're all just supposed to know and accept. just seems pointless and asinine to me, like why give the option if you don't want people to use it. dont get me wrong, if i see a job listing that actually looks like a good company and their website is actually usable and informative, then I'll often apply through their website as well as trough indeed or wherever I found it, in the hopes it'll raise my odds of the application even being seen. however, for most jobs, I just apply through indeed and accept that if that's a dealbreaker then I wouldn't want to work there anyways, because why would you allow me to apply that way if its not what you want.
I understand this is a bit of a silly complaint, im just frustrated with the job hunt and venting. I encourage everyone to share their own job search pet peeves!
