Never understood this. That nice fat salary you get every year is because everyone under you works so hard but we get pennies. Most of the guys sit behind a computer screen and send passive aggressive emails all day, never go out in the field.
For instance, I was in a zoom call with a VP and a regional manager and several account managers because our business unit was “under performing”. One of the account managers essentially had a breakdown because he has no help and can’t keep up with the demand and needed guidance. The VPs response: “okay that really doesn’t have anything to do with what we’re talking about”
My man quit 2 weeks later. They really lost someone who actually cared about the business because of their careless remarks.
The regional manager told me if I don’t get better at X I’ll have to get on a call and explain why I’m not doing better. Probably because I’m the only employee and I can’t do everything by myself?
That’s all our corporate employees do. Send passive aggressive emails and smart remarks. They never offer any real help.
I try not to let it bother me because I know if I ever saw any of them on the street they wouldn’t even look me in the eye. But still it’s annoying when you get treated poorly.
