I work for a relatively small company but not small enough to care about you if you're working here. I understand wanting to have higher ups view you as a good worker in case a promotion comes up but why do people care so much about the small stuff? like people will report me for the most minor stuff that does nothing for anyone, and will make the job their life. Maybe I'm just cynical and just depressed working here and it weirds me out how much someone can care about someones business so much for no gain. We aren't paid based on the amount of products we get through the door (although there is a small bonus every few months but it's not worth getting stressed out about, it's really small). The people that annoy me the most are the micromanagers thinking they're team leads when they're blatantly not and people know it, like why do you care if I'm on my phone for 5 seconds, they'll go as far to get you punished for shit that doesn't even affect them at all. The worst part is they don't even do any work or if they do it's not alot at all but they'll tell me and others to “pick up the pace”. Some of the people seem to be decent outside of work but inside they're assholes.
TLDR: Why do people care about how well a business does when it doesn't actually affect them at all and they'll be getting paid either way.
