Sorry, this rant will be all over the place.
I understand that if I want to thrive, I must work hard. But it is not reasonable to expect hard work for basic survival. Frustrating seeing countless acres of land not being used in any way, owned by people who solely want to make money.
Why can't someone claim a modest piece of land for themselves to build a home with? Why are people threatened to have their home taken away if they don't pay a specific tax? I have no problem contributing to society, but my survival should not be threatened for not paying taxes on a house I fully own.
Sure, I'll give 15 cents for every dollar I make. But what if I make no money for a year and gather what I need from nature? My home should never be at risk.
Why is it that the government shut down a tiny house village for homeless people built by a man who cares? Simply because he didn't get their permission to build a bunch of tiny houses on HIS land, embarrassing the government as he did what they weren't willing, so they kick everyone out.
We live in a cruel world.
