Why does a lot of upper managements attempts at reigning in their control over us “subordinates” all seem to be mirroring some form of the same play book?

Lately there has been a ton of posts about pay cuts(or refusal to acknowledge the 8% inflation), banning discussion of pay, restricting phone use at the work place, ending work from home, continually laying people off while refusing to hire replacements, and then blame shifting by making half-effort signs about how no-one wants to work. What terrible management book or facebook group are all of these jabronies following? What do these employer's actually think is going to happen if you continue to treat an already repressed group of workers sub-humanely. We have nothing to lose at this point. The stock market is volatile/crashing for anyone given company stock as incentive. Vacation time is unusable(not to mention too expensive for most to even indulge in). Owning a home/renting is no longer viable for anyone not locked into long term contracts already. Employers all using the same play-book to maintain control is just uniting and pissing more and more people off. What is the end-goal and how can owners/upper-management not understand that the game is changing and they need to change too.

Were tired of being tired all the time.
