After the last 3 years of working 2 different customer service jobs, I had to quit. I took a pay cut to work in an office job, but the relief I felt from not having to deal with screaming customers all day made it worth it.
Why are people so rude? Yeah, I’ve met some nice people and kind people over the years, but I’ve also been cussed out more times that I can remember for the most trivial of things, and if I dare show any form of resistance to that behavior, I got written up. I quit with no notice after the last incident, because I couldn’t take another day.
Why are people like this? I genuinely want to know because I cannot figure out why I, and so many other workers, have to suffer like that when we’re here to help. I genuinely wanted to help people, and now I hate it, and vowed to never work a job where I have to deal with customers again.
