Hi, im just so confused about this and i see it all the time
People who grew up poor and had to go way beyond what was reasonable and suffered way more than anyone should, one would think they must have hated that experience when it was happening and at some level wished it was easier.
One would think that these people going through these experiences to have gained a special level of empathy towards people going through similar experiences that they did
Then how come i often see these exact people react to ideas of like making housing more accessible, making food more accessible, increasing wages, making housing a human right with distain and disgust, acting like the people wanting these things are just lazy and weak
I just don't get how this is possible, i expect it from rich people who benefited from an unjust system and never worked a day in their life but not from people i would consider my allys.
