It’s so frustrating! I applied to this job and I got really far in their insane, Herculean level recruitment process. The next step was the background check, during which I was told I’d be contacted with a yes or a no (if rejected) to let me know my application status. This was nearly two weeks ago. The guy who was in charge of all this and who used to respond regularly to me has now stopped responding altogether (I emailed him yesterday inquiring about my application status).
Now I’m stuck in limbo, not sure whether I still have a chance or whether I should move on. Stuck in a shitty, low paying teaching gig and was really looking forward to this new job but guess I’m screwed and will need to look for something else. I have no idea why I was rejected though and what they found in my background check that presumably made them stop responding to me (as far as I know, I have a clean record, no debt, nothing to raise red flags).
I wish employers would straight up tell you why you were rejected and give you feedback on what you can do for future success. But nope. How are we supposed to learn if we don’t know wtf went wrong. I just hate this so much
