Why is America so toxic regarding work and wages?
Most of this sub is American and the amount of toxic stuff I see is unreal especially regarding wages and barley just living. I’m English and while we are similar in some aspects of the work market, if you’re lucky, ambitions and play your cards right you can have a comfortable life here.
I’ve noticed as well a lot of you don’t get holidays why is this? We get 28-30 days (depends on your employer) holiday days off with full pay and where I work I get 2 personal days on top of that in which I use one normally for my bday.
The main problem in the UK as we aren’t as ambitious as our US counterparts, it’s something to do with our culture you get some people here the majority in my eyes stuck in a rut but they just accept it, even though I know a lot of lads who could easily get better jobs they still do their current job and don’t even attempt to switch.
I find it fascinating how cut throat America is though in the job market and how it’s a daily struggle to survive for some people.
