With not wanting to be exploited by companies, is it OK criticize them on public platforms or support tickets?

Part of standing up for yourself is telling the company you're rejecting them and often you can give a reason. So, to elaborate on my question, when you're using a company for their service and you find it unsatisfactory is it OK or even encouraged to offer strong feedback on the areas where they've fallen short?
