So I worked at a cannabis grow operation in Florida. I got to work at 5am on 03/27/22 and got out of my car and started walking to clock in. while I was walking I just collapsed to the ground in pain, it was my back. When I say I couldn't move I mean it was so bad I thought I needed an ER. I should mention the work I did at this company was very labor intensive and included a lot of heavy backpack sprayers. I went to urgent care and the doctor urged me to file a workman's comp claim bc I was on company property so I did. However when I returned to work with my claim, paperwork and restrictions shit went down.
I had to talk to an injury compliance officer who essentially bullied me out of filing the claim. He told me it'll never work I'll never get paid he's seen a lot worse not get through and bc of the nature of my injury he said It was a lost cause and told me I need to call my doctor and tell them it's a 'personal injury'…so I did. HR then mandated that I take 'sick leave' for two weeks until my restrictions cleared and told me to leave the work site.
I took my two weeks off and my back was not feeling better yet. Bc this company handled this so shitty I thought I should probably quit rather than come back to work and fuck my shit up even more. I texted my boss my resignation on 04/08/22 .
My final check cleared on the morning of 04/22/22. This sick pay is shown in the paystub has a total amount of 988.00$. This check should have been my final one from this company post resignation. NONE of the approved sick pay has been reflected in this final check. I mean it shows sick pay approved. But it wasn't paid out. I have contacted my boss, HR, and payroll supervisor but no one has replied to me at all and that was 10 days ago.
What do I do?! Can I do anything?
