Work stress – advice needed

I work in a very intense job involving research, writing, and a lot of direct work with clients. The productivity requirements are very high, and getting higher. Anyway, after 5 years of this intensity without much positive feedback, I’ve developed bad anxiety issues. I started working with a therapist recently, and I’m on an anti-anxiety med, but still having moments of panic and crying every day. I’m seeing my doc on Monday for more help. I have about 6 months of savings and wonder if I should 1)ask for stress leave to recover my mental and physical health or 2) just quit. I’m afraid if I take leave they’ll fire me when I get back. If I quit, I’m scared I’ll never find a job that suits me as well (work from home, decent pay, etc.) I’m very worried about my health, though, and wonder if it’s worth trying to…

What would you do if you were in my shoes?
