Hi all, I am a lead operator at a ski resort running ski lifts. I recently had a deadline for a medical class to pass it and told my manager that I would have to call in for three days to make sure I kept my position in the fire department I am working in as well. My manager at the resort job took away my access to the mountain and told me that I was lucky she did not fire me. “I’m going to let it slide this time, but if you do it again I’ll let you go.” In all fairness, I don’t care. I have had decreeing trust and respect for her after watching her follow employees around the entire resort property screaming at them for being a few minutes late, after finding out that their parent died and they had to leave for New York to make the funeral the following week, to the point that they cried and quit on the spot. She openly slanders employees and is overly passive aggressive to everyone in her department. I have been shorted hundreds of dollars on paychecks, my most recent one, by my math, was about 250$ short. Which is about 18 hours of work. I am thinking I will quit after this season.
