Worked for a corporation for 4 years and left for a company that changed agreed compensation two days before start date. FML.

I worked for a large international company for about four years. I recently started looking for other job opportunities since it seemed like it was going nowhere. In comes Hometown Equity Mortgage (DBA TheLender) . They offer me a position with a decent salary and commission structure, with the option to go to a lower hourly rate and higher commission once established. I accepted the offer for the set salary and quit my job. Two days before my start date, their HR department called me and stated that they are no longer offering the compensation we agreed upon. They are now offering minimum wage with slightly higher commission. The hiring manager stated that they don't normally see new hires start closing until two months in.
