Here goes… I need to get this out there somehow and I fucking love this sub and it's attitude.
I was working a very easy, comfortable job. Worked Monday-friday, made crap money but I worked 8.45-4.30 (that's leaving and arriving home time) was my own boss, decided where I went and what I was going to do.
Then one of my parents got diagnosed with cancer at the start of the pandemic was given 6-18 months to live, they're still going strong! They run a fairly successful business earning in the £000,000s profit each year. They asked me to go in and to helpout, I'd have to learn everything about said business and eventually in years to come take over.
Well it's been close to 10 months and I now work every other weekend, 50 hour weeks and I make less the minimum wage. I'm now in an awful position and I haven't got a fucking clue what to do. I still live with them which further complicates things and I can't afford to move out on this shitty wage. When I challenged it, I was told 'wait until the future then you can get more' to which I said 'and what? Live in my childhood bedroom until I'm 40?' to which I got no reply.
What the fuck do I do?
