I conducted some interviews with my manager the other day. We're short staffed (big surprise) and he doesn't have a lot of experience with interviewing whereas I do, so I assisted him
Literally every interviewee that came in I wanted to throw up a big red flag for. My manager kept saying “were looking for someone who doesn't need breaks, will keep their head down and do their work.” Then he continues to low ball them on wage. How demoralizing that must have felt for them.
Why is my company so obsessed with the idea of not giving people breaks? I implemented a rotation so everybody gets them now (we didn't for two years) and now they're trying to get rid of my rotation in the name of productivity over legality. If I hears “we want someone who doesn't need breaks” and this pompous ass looked over at me with a smug grin I'd walk tf out knowing what I know now. Especially on 12 hour shifts! It isn't even productive!
