Would really appreciate some advise on working unnecessary hours

Hey everyone. I will give some context so bear with me here. I live in a smaller town and work at a car dealership in sales with only one other sales person and our hours are as follows (Note: we Rotate every week its opposite) Also a HUGE point is we dont get paid a salary it is strictly commission only so we are not paid to be here. Me: Mon 10-7 Tues 8-5 Wed 10-7 thurs 8-7 fri 8-530 Sat OFF sun OFF Her: Mon 8-5 Tues 10-7 Wed 8-5 Thurs OFF Fri 8-530 Sat 8-4 Sun OFF So when we are off saturday we are working 47.5 hours and when working saturday its 44.5 I understand there are only 2 sales people here and we need to work a bit more but I simply do not see the need for such overlap in the schedule, they cant use…

Me: Mon 10-7 Tues 8-5 Wed 10-7 thurs 8-7 fri 8-530 Sat OFF sun OFF

Her: Mon 8-5 Tues 10-7 Wed 8-5 Thurs OFF Fri 8-530 Sat 8-4 Sun OFF

So when we are off saturday we are working 47.5 hours and when working saturday its 44.5 I understand there are only 2 sales people here and we need to work a bit more but I simply do not see the need for such overlap in the schedule, they cant use the complaint about needing 2 people here when thursdays they keep one person here for 11 hours by themselves and saturday for 8. We also only get about 30 mins for lunch a day. The nature of car sales is sometimes if its busy or you have an appointment after shift you stay or come in early anyways. I only just started here about 4 months ago and with speaking to the other sales person here the GM mainly only cares about his bottom line bonus at the end of the day and is super cheap. He also will use the excuse of “well I work 8-7 everyday” or when he has to help do something he will feel the need to say ” wow the GM cleaning cars how about that”. Now its worth noting hes not an asshole most of the time hes an OK guys overall but its super annoying.

How can I bring this up to him or come up with a solution to get him to cut back on some of these hours without putting myself in the crosshairs to possibly get fired for “complaining”

TLDR: I feel I work unnecessary hours for some one who does not get paid a salary or hourly and want to bring it up without risking getting fired.
