Recently turned 30 and got letgo/quit a job that was paying $145k. When I was letgo, I was happy since I knew I wanted to quit and didn’t want to because if I did I would have missed unemployment and severance. I stocked it out for couple of months and got letgo and did receive severance and unemployment currently. I also wanted to leave cuz I was tired of office politics and I felt like my mental health was deteriorating at that time and it’s been almost 2 months.
During unemployment, you are supposed to still look for a job and interviews while receiving unemployment. I wasn’t planning on getting a job because I actually retired.
We get VA military disability and stock dividends and is more than enough to live on and is why I decided to retire.
I just got done with interviews and did my final part already and now just waiting for an answer. My recruiter thinks I got the position and the pay is $120k~ ish. It’s still enticing but I’m leaning towards No. wife and I are actually planning to sell our house we bought in 2019 and move to Japan (where I’m from) by august (already preparing for the move).
What would you guys do? The position is not remote. Wish it was. Would you guys go back to work if you were me if you did get this job?
