I know it’s a labor law violation, but I wanna know if I’m being petty or not for being upset by this? I make min wage, and when I’m asked to stay after for a few min once I’m clocked out, it’s to do someone else’s job. They usually make me do a small task or two every evening, so I’m usually working off the clock for 5 min each day. It adds up and it’s so disrespectful. I don’t need this job and I decided to leave the first week of April, but I’m so upset about this. I bring my frustration home with me frequently. This workplace has been nothing but toxic since day one.
What would you say to your boss if they asked you to “stay for just a few min to do blank task?”
