It went a little like this when I got fired, it kind of makes me chuckle because I had just got promoted two weeks before.
After some chatting it went like this :
Her : You took 10 days off for Covid.
Me : But you told me to? Also I had the DRs note and even tried to come back sooner than my note due to testing negative.
Her : Yea… (pauses for a sec) but everyone else took 5 days off.
Me : But you literally told me.. ten. days. and I had the DR note.
I just stare at her dumbfounded because I knew everything about to leave her mouth after this was just as BS.
Has nothing else to say to that and proceeds to list other bullshit reasons for firing me. F* At Will States.
Truth is I just got done training someone to a T to do exactly what I do — just for less. So that’s probably why.
On the bright side I got a new job a week later, making a few dollars per hr than usual. Onto better things.
Edit : She even said I failed to train colleagues when I only trained one person (they kept firing everyone else) and I was still training myself (fresh out of school).
