Yes, your job sucks. It will always suck. This is by design.

The problem is that you're “going along with the program” where young people go to school to learn how to be competent drones with moderate levels of skills that are only useful to businesses that need drones. You are then doomed to a life that sucks or maybe just sucks a little, depending on what path you chose. What you should have done is avoided the traditional, advertised path to “success” which is get good grades, go to college and get a great job that pays well” but turned out to be a lie. Instead you should have learned a trade, worked for someone for a few years, taken some business classes and started your own business. I know this will be as popular as a huge sloppy, greasy wet fart in the middle of a church service, but I'm posting it anyway in the hopes of saving a few…

HVAC service is billed out at over $100/hour. As an employee you might make $35. If you own your own business you keep the whole thing.

Same with bricklaying. I paid a guy $20,000 to build me a new chimney a few years back. Bricks are cheap. The rest was his.

Plumber? Electrician? Carpenter? Surveyor? Same thing. Learn the trade, go out on your own and reclaim your life.
