For context I'm an 18 year old trans guy living in a shithole eastern European country and I'm saving up for college and to move to Canada in the near future. I wanted to get a job to save up. I live with my parents for the time being so i don't need the money to live off of just yet i just wanted to get as much savings as possible. I was promised a set alary in the interview. Nobody even MENTIONED food stamps, come to find out a whole fucking 20% of my entire salary would be paid in food stamps. I've been working here for more than a month (the salaries were 2 weeks late on top of everything) and nobody has said anything about these stamps ONCE. they can only be used for a month and expire after and only VERY FEW obscure grocery stores even take them. They're completely useless for me. Guess I'll just save up 20% less because i got this as a summer job and it's far too late to find another one now
