10 years with a company

10 years I spent there. Fell for the “we're a family!” Bs. My manager regularly told me to reach out if my work load was too much because I was easily doing the work of 2 people. Last May I did just that. We had a meeting, I received a lot of empty promises, and things seemed hopeful. Then absolutely nothing changed and my manager became increasingly more frustrated over the fact that I wasn't just adapting to doing the workload of 2 people. I put in my 2 week notice and today was my last day. I noticed multiple closed door meetings over the last 2 weeks, and sure enough my replacement starts tomorrow. 10 years, shitty pay, completely taken advantage of, extreme burnout. Moral of the story, don't give a company everything you've got to the point your mental health suffers, because they will replace you the second…

Last May I did just that. We had a meeting, I received a lot of empty promises, and things seemed hopeful. Then absolutely nothing changed and my manager became increasingly more frustrated over the fact that I wasn't just adapting to doing the workload of 2 people.

10 years, shitty pay, completely taken advantage of, extreme burnout. Moral of the story, don't give a company everything you've got to the point your mental health suffers, because they will replace you the second you're gone. Learn from my mistake.
