I did not want to work 12s when I was hired in April. I wouldn't have wanted the job then. They were 10 hour shifts, which is fine, I've been doing that for the last 1 1/2 years.
Our department was put on 12s in the middle of the week last week (not even a 1 day notice for 2nd shift). I fucking hate it. I'm quitting soon but can't get out of here fast enough now with this 12 hour bullshit.
It's 4 12s and then a 10 on Friday. Still get the weekend off, so I guess it could be worse. But that's still nearly 60 hours a week. These mandatory 12s will most likely go on for the next couple of months. Another department has already been on 12s since may/june and they still are.
I'm writing this in the bathroom where I'm supposed to have 1 more hour left of work but now I have FOUR.
fuck manufacturing and production jobs. They work the shit out of you.
