I am a teacher who is 17 weeks pregnant. I have been having blood pressure issues on and off since my pregnancy began including very dangerously low BPs. Today I came to work not feeling well so I checked my blood pressure. It was DANGEROUSLY low at 77/45. I feel like absolute shit. I called my OBGYN and he said that I could try chugging some water but if I didn’t help I needed to go to the ER. Well I chugged about 60 oz and it has barely gone up. As soon as I realized there was a problem I notified my ADMIN that I might have a problem and need to leave. Well when I told them what was going on and that it hadn’t improved I was told that I simply couldn’t leave because they didn’t have any coverage today and I was just going to have to “tough it out”. How exactly do you tough out your heart not pumping correctly? What are they gonna do if I pass out in front of the kids? I’m so upset and have no idea what to do… I can’t just leave I will lose not only my job but my license to teach but what if something happens to my baby?
Edit: after 3 hours my teacher friend found out what was going on and sent his para to cover for me…I am now on the way to the ER
