I just quit my job. I’ve always followed the rules and given 2 weeks notice or more, even when I was being treated like garbage. But last Friday, my boss told me off, questioned my character and said I was mismanaging the staff. I’ve been working 60 hour weeks and I know I am good at my job. Our team and our partners love working with me, and my boss did too, until Friday. I was about to head out on vacation, and I do not know what set her off. I’m not going back. 2 weeks notice is a scam. Who does that benefit? They hold it over our heads for a good reference and expect us to bust our butts wrapping things up to make it seem like we never left. No more. You treat me like trash and I’ll just take myself out immediately.
I do recognize that I am saying this from a place of privilege.
