20 years for $1 more

Did a phone interview this week for a nonprofit up here in the PNW. It was basically buying and serving reheatable food plus cleaning up the area. Listing said it was $1 over minimum wage here, interviewer informed me that they had limited funds but were working to raise new hires after they took care of their current hires. Oh and she knew they said weekdays only, but I'd be cool with a weekend each week coming in right? Oh and some housekeeping duties too. Oh and some housekeeping duties too. Friend works there informed me their housekeeper quite that weekend after an incident. This is her same position they didn't tell her they were hiring for, so I let her know.

But what got my hell no? I asked what NY wage would be factoring in my experience in food service. Which lead to that whole limited funds spiel. So told her I wouldn't start without being $2 over minimum and she told me I needed 20 years experience for a DOLLAR more than their listing offered.

Told her thanks but no thank and good luck. She told me they'd love to hear from me if I changed my mind.
