I was contacted on a recruiting site by a local gymnastics gym asking to come in for a coaching position ($18 an hour) I’m employed full time but used to cheer/coach and thought it would be fun to do.. but after I went in and observed a class, met everyone, talked about scheduling me, I find out they would pay me $12 AN HOUR!’ Wtf?? Waste of time and annoying
Month: March 2022
HR called a meeting with me today about my recent quarantine and returning to work. I was exposed on Sunday, February 20th, and called my place of works COVID hotline, and my place of work said i have to isolate until at least Thursday, February 24th, but firstly i need to be tested on Monday, February 21st. I would then have to be retested on Friday, February 25th. Monday the 21st i was tested, and the results came back negative, i continued to isolate, and became symptomatic on Wednesday, February 23rd. My place of work called me on Thursday, and said get tested On Friday. At this point i was sick, and produced a positive COVID test on Friday, February 25th. I told my place of works COVID hotline, and they said to file my positive result with the county. I later a call from the county, they interviewed me…
I’m sick and tired of getting hired for teaching jobs only knowing LAST YEARS salaries. The only time they are upfront about salary is AFTER the interview, once we get an “offer.” Why the hell do you expect us to apply for and interview for jobs without knowing an inkling about our compensation!?! We already go a month or two working without pay in the beginning of the year. Guessing pay structure on top of that based on previous years salaries is not okay. I’m getting emails for job fairs and they say things “competitive salaries.” I know in my frustration I’m being repetitive, but if it’s so competitive, then why won’t you tell us what it is? I DO NOT WANT TO SIGN A YEAR LONG CONTRACT WITH SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT TELL ME HOW MUCH MONEY I WILL BE MAKING. AGAIN, “I DID NOT SIGN A VOW OF…
Here’s exactly how the firing happened. I wish I had screenshots for you guys but I can’t access them now. You’re just going to have to take my word for it. For context I’m 19 years old and live alone, my dad lives across the city and we’re the only family each other has in the world. Me, in the work group chat : Hey, I’m posting for cover for tomorrow morning. I won’t be able to make my shift because my father is very ill and I need to to take care of him. Night Bartender: Well, in case nobody covers your shift and you need to come in anyway there’s some things you need to do tomorrow. Me: I’m sorry for any confusion, like I said I won’t be coming in tomorrow as I’m taking care of my father. He has a tooth abscess and might be septic.…
About to negotiate 2x my salary
I’ve been underpaid for a LONG time and I’m fed up. I put in my notice and now they want to chat. Wish me luck
They are wanting to set the return to office for May 1st and in the same email said we are no longer requiring people to show proof of vaccination or wear masks “as long as they test positive” like these fucking idiots are doing that unless they feel sick. I told my manager that I'm not dying for this company so either I can have the option to work from home or unvaccinated people need to wear masks so I know who not associate in close proximity to. She asked me if I was willing to submit my resignation if it came down to it and I said yes but I'm so worried. Please don't call my bluff, I like where I work. I'm an amazing candidate, so finding another job wouldn't be difficult but other than this particular situation my overall satisfaction with my job is relatively high. I've…
