Recently applied for a job at target, yea after their “raise to $24 hourly” bs PR move, FYI for those that didn’t read the article it’s a range $15-$24 depending where you live and the position. I applied for overnight inbound stock, full time position, to see what the raise really amounted to. Firstly they didn’t state openly what the starting pay was going to be, but I jumped through their hoops to find out, they had me record myself answering some really generic, stupid questions that had nothing to do with the actual job I’d be doing. When they finally got back to me with an acceptance, they inform me it’s a seasonal position, and starting wage was 16.75, I live in the tri states area, $16.75 isn’t enough to fill up a tank of gas, fuck them.

I’m seeing a trend in celebrity culture lately (e.g molly mae, Emma chamberlain). The belief that their success is down to their hard work. Here is my two cents: celebrities are the 1% OF the 1%. If they weren’t already born privileged, they also were incredibly lucky to be as successful as they are. Looking at the backgrounds of most celebrities I’ve recently been surprised to find 99% of them already have some ties to the industry. Or like in the U.K., the majority come from extremely wealthy backgrounds, and are private schooled. The point is, these celebrities were born into a world where luck was already on their side. It’s not to say they didn’t work hard for their success. But, they have no concept of the reality that there are people who are born and die in poverty, and no amount of “work” gets them out of it.…
I applied for a job and got an interview. The interview went very well. I interviewed on a Wednesday. They said, we will make a decision by Friday. I sent a thank you email. They replied very favorably, but Friday came and went. I sent an email on Monday inquiring if a decision has been made. I received a reply stating, there has not, but they expect one by Friday. On Friday, I did receive an email stating sorry, but things came up and Monday is the target date. Today is Wednesday and nothing, so I sent an email today that has not received a reply. At this point I no longer care about the job, but just tell me it's been filled, or that you're so disorganized you cannot even gather three people to make a decision. Seriously…yeah, people don't want to work!
Should I take this as a red flag?
My team group text this morning.
I finally found one in the wild.
the highest gas price i’ve seen was $8 something, this is absolutely insane and it boggles my mind how we are all just ready to accept this. gas prices raising is NO ONE’S fault BESIDES the corporate FUCKS orchestrating this blatant, predatory price gouging. it is simply disgusting how biden and friends are manufacturing our consent to do this — poor people at home are SUFFERING but politicians are out here telling us we should be glad to pay more TO GAS COMPANIES (!!) for whatever “moral” cause they’re trying to attribute to current events across the world. why are homeless people in cali who live in their cars expected to pay for this crisis? how are we ok with this? stay home, say fuck your job and save money
