I've been a delivery tech for a home medical company for almost 2 years. This means that I don't go home at a specific time at the end of the day, I go home when all our work orders are taken care of for the day. Some days it's at a decent time, others I'm working 12+ hours. When someone doesn't come in that work just gets put on the other drivers, because it still needs to be taken care of. We also have someone on call every day, and I've been scheduled on call all day Sunday and working Monday through Thursday. I came into work this morning and was told we no longer have one of our other drivers, so I'll have to take his on call on Tuesdays. I also have to come in and help on Fridays, which means Saturday is the only day I truly…

Hiring Manager emails me last week offering an interview. He says to let him know what days I’m available this week for a call. I reply within minutes of his email. Well, this week has already started, and Monday was one of the days I was available, yet I still have NOT received a reply! Funny how we’re expected to reply in minutes, yet they can’t be bothered to reply in days??? So I call in to HR to let them know, and he says he’ll reply to me by end of today. “Today” in terms of work hours has just about ended. Please don’t send out interview requests and then become unresponsive for fuck’s sake…you’re literally crushing in your hands the tiny amount of optimism and excitement I had to work for you.
Thanks a million
New member here, just wanted to take a minute and say thanks. Thank you for opening my eyes to the bigger picture, thank you for helping me realize my worth. Also thank you to the mods specifically the one that allowed me into this great community. You guys are all great, you all are worth much more than your granted but I hope you all have the best success in your future. Sorry for the rant I just wanted to give thanks.
Anti-tattleware/anti-bossware
Does anyone know any software projects aimed at tricking/neutralising bossware/tattleware? I'm thinking of working on something myself and I'm wondering if anyone knows what's already out there so I don't reinvent the wheel. Of course, there are mouse movers, but I'm talking about tricking more sophisticated trackers like Kickidler, InterGuard, Time Doctor..
Coping after salary penalty
I need help dealing with a tough situation. I suspected that I was earning less than more recent hires and told my manager. She disagreed and said my pay was fair. A few months later I talked to a coworker about it who reported me to the manager. My manager admonished me for behavior she deemed as being destructive and like a virus. She later said that my pay was determined to be inequitable and I was due for a pay adjustment, but I would no longer be getting the salary adjustment because I discussed my concerns with a peer. I’ve become sleepless and depressed. How do I cope with this situation given that I don’t want to leave the job. Employer is major public university in the US.
Indescribable anger
Yes. Yes. Anti work. I hate work. But I got bills Why is it so hard to get the 40 hours I need to live a humble life?! Why should I have to look for a second job just to get enough minimum wage hours when companies are so strapped for labor?!
