I work in a medically legal state (marijuana) but our company can hit us with random drug tests because it saves them money on insurance. On top of that they are completely anti cannabis because once again if they don’t allow their employees to test positive for thc they get an even bigger break on the insurance. I love that these companies disregard our well being because it’s not the “norm” and saves them more money. I knew all of this but still smoked everyday and got hit with a random today, so I used the synthetic urine in my pocket because I think their rules are unfair and unjustifiable, so why should we play fair. Now I sit and wait for the results, I’ll keep you updated.

They gave my husband EARNED vacation time, he used it, and now that he’s quit the company they sent us a letter demanding repayment to the tune of $2k. Claiming he was “overpaid” and never supposed to receive that time that THEY gave him. Four years with that piece of shit company and they pull this shit. The big orange box can get fucked ten ways to Sunday. Cancelling my card with them this week and contacting an employee rights lawyer.

The company I work for has been saying for months that we will be getting a great cash bonus this year, the first year they’re doing anything more than just a gift card. For months they’ve been hyping it up saying they are targeting a 10% bonus (subject to be adjusted) for everyone in the company to be based off of however much money you made last year: salary, commission, overtime, etc all combined. The final amounts came out this morning, let me break it down. 50% of the bonus comes from how the company did this year as a whole. If the company exceeded expectations then this portion would be higher, if the company did bad then it would be lower. The company had more than double the target growth and profit ratios for 2021. But the bonuses were not doubled, they were increased by 5% in this portion…

I occasionally do work for an IT staffing agency. A few months ago they contacted me about a job as a field technician for a large computer and printer manufacturer. I said sure I'll do it. they get back to me a week or so later and tell me the company filled the position with an internal transfer who moved from another city. ​ Fast forward to January. They call me again saying the job is open, so i say i'll do it. About a week later, they call me back with the same story as before. Why for the love of god do all these jobs want 6 day work weeks Jesusssssss I can’t get one job above 15$ an hour to give me a 5 day work week I physically cannot do it for 6 days go fuck yourself I’ll lose sleep and be deprived and drowsy all day operating forklifts someone is bound to get killed. I wanna have time for myself while also holding down a good paying job I didn’t realize that was so fucking much to ask.
