I am (was?) an independent sales contractor for a nationwide flooring company. Here's the current situation: I missed an appointment the other morning because it didn't show on my schedule when I checked at 7:30 AM. I went and did something else. I checked in later to see if I had any afternoon appts and saw messages from 9:30 AM asking why I didn't go to my appointment. Texted management back apologizing and got no response. The only thing I can think of is that this appointment was given to me at the last minute so I didn't see it. I'm pretty over this job though. Hy-Vee hour cut
I am currently a Hy-Vee employee working in the produce department. As many people know the in-store food area called “the market grille” got changed into a food chain called “wahlburgers”. This is a chain run by the Wahlburg family. The Wahlburgers in my Hy-Vee since opening has failed incredibly by not updating the kitchen and hiring enough staff to run it properly. I have talked with the managers there and they say that they are not profiting from it since the prices are crazy (13 dollars for a single plain cheeseburger), long wait times because there isn’t enough staff to stay on top of the orders, and frequent refunds due to messy and dirty tables. Hy-Vee has decided that the best way to solve the issue of Wahlburgers failing by cutting every other departments pay roll significantly and promising hours to people that transfer to that department.
